Ghirardelli Ghirardelli Chocolate Company, the oldest continuous chocolate manufacturer in America, has called San Francisco it's home since 1852. Domingo Ghirardelli was lured to California in 1849 by tales of the gold rush. When he moved to San Francisco in 1852, Domingo opened the Ghirardelli Chocolate Company where the legend of his chocolate truly began. In 1895, the company relocated to Ghirardelli Square, now a San Francisco landmark and the site of the Ghirardelli Manufactory & Soda Fountain where the original equipment can still be seen in operation The Ghirardelli chocolate line includes two chocolate sauces as well as a white chocolate and caramel sauce that pumps right into the cup. Additionally, many customers use the sweet ground chocolate in white or dark to flavor their coffee beverages. For blended drinks, Ghirardelli makes a rich frappe powder in classic white or double chocolate.
